Run scattered resources as one power plant

Based on the Korean virtual power plant (VPP) standard KSGA-025-19, one platform covers everything from plant data collection and control to links with KEPCO and the Korea Power Exchange.

What the VPP operator system does

Organised along the functional areas defined in Part 1 of the standard (KSGA-025-19-1).

Forecasting

Forecasts tomorrow’s solar output hour by hour from KMA weather forecasts, and scores the error every day.

Bidding · planning

Builds day-ahead and real-time plans automatically from PV forecasts and ESS state of charge.

Operation

Sends each plant its targets according to the plan and utility orders — with on-site protection first.

Trading · settlement

SMP, forecast-scheme settlement and plan-vs-actual. Statement reconciliation comes with the first contract.

Grid support

Polls distribution curtailment orders every minute, follows them and records whether we did.

Trading and settlement — where the money comes from

Each scheme pays differently. ENERBOT calculates by the published rules and lines up plans and actuals on the same screen.

KEPCO distribution flexibility
Metered kWh × bid price − shortfall

Checks every hour whether the bid plan was followed and records, order by order, whether we complied.

Calculation · records built
Exchange forecasting scheme
Average of 1st and 2nd error → ≤ 4 %: KRW 4 · ≤ 6 %: KRW 3

Sorts each hour into its settlement band per Appendix 2 of the Market Rules and estimates the payment.

Public SMP stored every hour

Takes the next-day SMP published by the exchange for the «estimated sales» in plans and actuals.

Even with several operators

Each operator has its own utility codes, keys, portfolios and screens. A plant can join several schemes at once and is registered separately for each.

The on-site EMS underneath

Even when a VPP order arrives, battery, fire and climate protection is decided on site first — on the same EMS that has protected 198 plants.
